Pearson Edexcel GCSE English Language (9-1) from 2015
Pearson English Conference 2019
Creativity in the classroom was this year’s chosen topic for our 2019 English Conference held at The University of Warwick.
With expert speaker sessions and workshops, our 2019 Conference looked at the importance of and ways in which you can incorporate creativity into everyday teaching of English Language and Literature.
On the Friday night we welcomed delegates to a formal dinner and overnight stay, with poetry readings and discussion from award-winning poets, Julia Copus and Daljit Nagra.
Dr Sue Dymoke kicked off the Saturday conference with a brilliant keynote, discussing strategies to engage students in their own writing, and thinking about poets as real people, not only existing within a book.
This was followed by a variety of workshops, including drama focused ways to engage students in studying Macbeth with Jon Seal, using drama to bring 19th century literature to life with Four of Swords, strategies for encouraging and enhancing creative writing with Siddartha Bose, and how to engage disenfranchised post 16 learners with our subject specialist Julie Hughes.
