Performance tables in England for 2020 results - July 2018 update
Here's an update on the latest release of qualifications included on performance tables in England for 2020 results.
Great news – the DfE has confirmed more BTEC qualifications which will be included in performance tables in England (2020 results).
There is still an appeals process underway with the DfE which may mean more BTEC qualifications will later be approved. We will let you know as soon as we have more news.
In the meantime, here’s a summary of the new BTEC qualifications included on performance tables for teaching from September 2018 along with information on how to keep in touch with your specialist subject teams:
1. Key Stage 4 (14-16) - Technical Awards
Take a look at the newly approved qualifications.
Technical Award (2020 results in England)
BTEC Level 1/2 First Award in:
BTEC Level 1/2 Tech Award in:
- Music Practice
- Sport, Activity and Fitness
- Travel and Tourism
- Performing Arts (this qualification had previously been approved: it has now been approved with the addition of a Production Arts route)
2. Post-16 Level 2 and Level 3 (Technical Certificates; Tech Level; Applied General)
There are now even more subjects and sizes of BTEC qualifications included on performance tables in England (2020 results).

BTEC Level 2 Technical Diploma in:
Applied General (2020 results in England)
BTEC Level 3 National:
- Extended Certificate in Applied Human Biology
- Certificate in Music Performance
- Extended Certificate in Music Performance
Tech Level (2020 results in England)
BTEC Level 3 National:
- Extended Certificate in Agriculture
- Extended Diploma in Agriculture
- Extended Diploma in Horticulture
