This qualification is for learners who work as production, maintenance, marine or terminal supervisors in oil and gas installations. Completing Units 1–3 will fulfil the minimum requirements for an individual to stand in as acting operations installation manager (OIM) if the OIM is absent. These units also fulfil the minimum requirements for an individual to assume the roles of site emergency coordinator (SEC) or on-scene commander (OSC) in the event of major emergencies, for example if the OIM is injured during an incident.
