This qualification is for learners who are working as instrument technician engineers involved in the planned and corrective maintenance of instrumentation in oil and gas facilities, and who want to work towards becoming senior instrument technician engineers. Learners will develop an understanding of control systems, safeguarding systems, alarm and shutdown detection devices and fire and gas detection devices. Learners will also develop the knowledge and skills needed to maintain these systems and devices.
