July 2014 update
This month's update includes qualification extensions, Trailblazer Standards and changes to the Higher Apprenticeship in Care Leadership and Management.
Health and social care (HSC) qualifications
All qualifications within the HSC suite of qualifications will be extended until 31 December 2016.
Adult Social Care Trailblazer
The draft standards for Adult Social Care were submitted in mid-June by the Trailblazer group, chaired by Helen Wilcox from Woodford Homecare. Pearson contributed to the consultation on these draft standards and we are now engaging with the Trailblazer group for the next stages.
Higher Apprenticeship in Care Leadership and Management - Level 5 (England)
The Higher Apprenticeship in Care Leadership and Management framework has changed. Learners are now required to achieve a minimum of 90 credits from the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (England) (QCF) and must achieve the following units:
- J/602/3499: Undertake a research project within services for health and social care or children and young people
- F/504/2218: Understand professional management and leadership in health and social care or children and young people's settings.
