Construction update - September 2024
An update on everything new within the Construction sector.
Planned Extensions – The following qualifications will be extended as follows:

Changes to NVQs in Interior Systems:
Please note that the specification for NVQ Level 2 NVQ Diploma and Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Interior Systems has been updated in September 2024, to comply with revised National Occupational Standards set by CITB. These changes are outlined in the revised specification and include the availability of a new pathway in Dry Lining - Fire Resistant Walls, and the addition of a new knowledge criterion in several units: ‘Describe how fire spreads through a building and how to impede it and protect the structure’. This must be now evidenced for learners on programme from September 2024.
The new pathway will be available to any centres currently delivering the NVQ Diploma currently, with the version updated on Edexcel Online that includes this option.
Updates to Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations Management
Please note that the above qualification is being updated to meet the current National Occupational Standards set by CITB and the new specification will be available online shortly. The new version will replace the current one by the end of the year (at which point learner registration will cease on the current version), and centre approval will be automatically transferred to the new version.
