Government announcement of the review of Post 16 qualification reform
In December, the Government announced the outcomes of the review of Post 16 qualification reform. The aim of the review was to determine which qualifications will be funded for 16-19 learners in England for the 2025/26 academic year. This provided more certainty around future funding in England for our BTEC Nationals for learners starting in September 2025 and in September 2026. There will be more information later about what happens from 2027 onwards.

Keep up to date on the Post 16 qualification reforms
We would like to invite you to our events that will keep you up to date on the latest developments. These sessions are for centres in England only and will focus on the impact of Government reforms on qualifications and funding. You will hear our latest updates in response to the Government's announcement (in December) after the 'pause and review' and have the opportunity to ask questions or hear from other centres who may have questions of their own.

Working with BASES
We are excited to announce a new partnership between Pearson and BASES (British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences) aimed at enhancing the learning experience for BTEC students interested in pursuing a career in sport and exercise science.
As the professional body for sport and exercise sciences in the UK, BASES has confirmed it recognises the BTEC National Sport and Exercise Science qualifications in developing relevant and expected scientific knowledge and skills in the sector. This recognition validates the quality of the programme and assures universities that the qualification meets high academic and professional standards.
