Administrative Support Guide

The Administrative Support Guide has recently been updated. It details correct procedures for the conduct of GCSE Music examination and non-examined components.

Authentication sheets

Updated authentication sheets are available on the GCSE Music qualification page. These should be downloaded, re-named, then filled in locally on a computer. PDFs may be printed then filled in manually.

One spreadsheet should be used for all candidates OR one PDF should be used for each sampled candidate. Spreadsheets can be completed by using the desktop Excel app. Instructions for enabling Excel macros can be found in Appendix 4 of the Administrative Support Guide.

Edexcel Online Account

To submit coursework marks on Edexcel Online and coursework samples using the Learning Work Transfer (LWT) portal you need a valid Edexcel Online account linked to your centre. If you need to be set up with an Edexcel Online account you must speak to your Exams Officer – they are the only person who can set up your account.

If you have forgotten your Edexcel Online password (or it has expired) you can generate a new one. Your username is usually your email address.

Learner Work Transfer (LWT)

GCSE Music coursework samples will need to be submitted to us via the Learner Work Transfer (LWT) portal. You will not be able to see your requested sample on the LWT portal until mid-April.

File naming

Updated file naming requirements can be found on pages 11 and 15 of the Administrative Support Guide.

Compatible file types are listed in Appendix 1 in the Administrative Support Guide.

It's not too late to apply to be a moderator or examiner this Summer.
