A level Music
In November we submitted a proposed change to our A level Music specification. This includes reducing the number of set works from 18 to 12, an additional 10 minutes for the exam and the addition of a fourth option in question 6 of the exam. We are now awaiting feedback from Ofqual to the proposed changes. If it is approved by Ofqual the changes would take effect for summer 2021 assessment.
We have also published some further exemplars and guidance to support centres in the approach to questions 5 and 6.
New ASG, PAS and CAS forms for A level Music
We have published the new Administrative Support Guide, PAS form and CAS form to submit with student work for assessment in summer 2021. These have been updated to reflect the changes for assessments in summer 2021. Please use the new forms for submission in May.
Summer 2021 submission
Submission of NEA coursework will be via the new Digital Learner Work Transfer Portal. We have created some guidance to help you prepare the work for submission via the new portal.
A level Music Technology
There are new editable Word versions of the logbooks available online for Component 1 and 2. Candidates can use these versions to edit on computer rather than completing the logbooks by hand.
There is also a new updated Administrative Support Guide for summer 2021.
Summer 2021 Exam Entry
Exam entries for summer 2021 assessment must be made by 21 February 2021. After this date late entry fees may be charged. Please note that your exams officer will have their own internal deadlines in order to get the information necessary to make entries.
The entry code for A level Music is 9MU0. The entry code for AS level Music Technology is 8MT0 and the entry code for A level Music Technology is 9MT0. However, there are some option codes for any students resitting the qualification who wish to carry forward marks from the previous series.

Autumn Series
The exam paper from the autumn series were released on 24 November with the mark schemes released on 1 December. This will be padlocked so that centres are able to use this as a mock exam. We will also keep the 2019 exam materials under padlock until 1 April 2021 so this can be used for mocks.
