September Subject Advisor Update
The Septmber update from your Subject Advisor
Welcome back to the new academic year.
This months update will include information about the new Tech Award in Health and Social care and some of the key dates you might need.
All assessment is expected to continue as normal this year. All mitigations and adaptations have been removed
Key Dates
| 3rd October | Release of the first PSA for Component 1 and 2 (Tech Award) | |
| 18th October | Entry deadline for the Tech Award internally assessed Component for the Autumn series | |
| Ist November | Deadline for all BTEC registrations | |
| 15th December | Deadline for uploading completed work for moderation (Tech Award) | |
| 18th October | Deadline for the Janaury/February externals (all BTECs) |
New BTEC Tech Award Health and Social Care (2022)
All students that have started on the Tech Award this September an will certificate in Summer 2024 will need to be registered on the new Tech Award.
If the students are complting in one year and will certificate in 2023 they need to be on the old specifcation.

New Assessment Tracker Tool
The assessment tracker tool can be downloaded from the qualifcation page. It is a free resource that will help you to track your students completing the new Tech Award.
Training
The training for the Moderation and Marking has proved really popular and all spaces are now full. In response to this we will be releasing a recording of the session which will be avalible as soon as possible.
The Future of Level 3 qualifications
You can read more about the future of Level 3 qualifcations and some of the key dates.
Please be reassured that you can continue to teach most BTEC Nationals in Health and Social care until at least 2026.
We are awaiting an update on the BTEC National Diploma in Health and Social care.
