There have been some minor updates to the PSABs for all subjects. It won't affect your teaching but might make the PSABs easier for students to follow and complete.  See the PSABs for each subject.

The Specification contains everything that you need to teach and lots of information about planning and running the course. 

Planing and delivery guide

This document sets how the course might be taught. It contains some ideas for teaching and has links to useful websites that you can use. This is just a guide and you can use it how you want. It is not written to be followed exactly.

Pearson Level 3 Alternative Academic Qualification

BTEC National in Health and Social Care (Certificate)

This qualification is currently pending approval. Regulatory approval and funding confirmation is anticipated in September 2025. Once approved, it will be available for first teach from September 2026.

The Certificate contains a subset of units which are shared with the Extended Certificate.

Mandatory units – students complete and achieve all units (180 GLH)

  • Unit 1 -  Human Lifespan and development (external) 90 GLH
  • Unit 3 - Principles of health and Social Care practice (internal) 90 GLH

This will only be available for Health and Social Care
