May 2025 Subject Update for Health and Social Care
Welcome to the May update. As exam season starts I hope everything goes well with the exams and the moderation of PSAs.
This update has information about Moderation of the Tech Awards and the extended dates for the PSA. It has information about results for the Firsts and Nationals.

All Learner's work need to sent to us by 15 May.
Accessing the Moderator report
Your Initial E9 (Draft) report will be available for you to see on Edexcel online.
Moderation and internal assessment for BTEC Tech Awards from 2022.
There is a page that provides guidelines on marking internally assessed work for the Pearson set assignments and explains how the moderation process works for the BTEC Tech Awards from 2022.
Early Release of the PSAs
You should now have seen the communications that have been sent about the change in the release dates for the PSAs for the Tech Award.
New PSA Release Dates
2 June 2025 – PSA for the December/January 2025/26 assessment series
1 September 2025 - PSA for the May/June 2026 assessment series
We understand that learners may face setbacks, such as absences or other challenges. This change provides additional contingency time, allowing more opportunity for learners to catch up and stay on track.
Although PSAs are being released earlier, teaching should remain focused on the full course content rather than preparing students specifically for the assignment.
The deadlines for submission of learner work will remain unchanged each series, and the updated release schedule will not affect learners who are currently completing a PSA this May/June 2025 series, working to a 15 May submission deadline.
