Welcome to the June update for Health and Social Care. I hope you've been able to enjoy some sunshine.
Now the exam season is over we just have to wait for the results in August.

Funding for 2026 BTEC Nationals (2016)
Health and Social Care
BTEC Nationals Diploma and Extended Diploma (2016) remain funded for 26/27 and 27/28. This means you can continue to teach them with confidence.
They will be replaced with V-Levels and T-Levels. There will be a T-Level Health which is available now and there are plans for a new T-Level Care Services.
Applied Psychology
BTEC National Applied Psychology remains funded for 26/27 and 27/28. You can continue to teach with confidence.
The plans for this are not clear at this time. We will know more soon.
Funding for AAQ
Health and Social Care and Medical Science
AAQs remain funded for 26/27 and 27/28 , continue to teach with confidence.
These will be replaced by V-Levels in 28/29. We will know more soon.
Funding for Level 2 Qualifications
Health and Social Care
BTEC First Certificate, Extended Certificate and Diploma remain funded for 26/27 and 27/28.
These will be replaced in 2028 by a Foundation Certificate and an Occupational Certificate in Health and Science. We will know more soon.
BTEC Tech Award (2022) Extended
Health and Social Care
We’ve extended all BTEC Level 1/Level 2 Tech Awards in England and Northern Ireland to 31 August 2030. Tech Awards aren’t currently affected by reforms at this level, so you can continue to deliver them with confidence.
Training for the Tech Award
We are gathering information from centres on how to improve the Tech Award training. It is just a short form and will help us to improve what we can offer.
