Hello everyone, I hope the year is going well and you were able to take some time at half term.
This update has a reminder about BTEC Nationals Unit 4, new videos for the Tech Award and retake information and a reminder of the exam dates for January.

Training for the Tech Award 2022
There are still dates for the Component 3 training and the Marking and Moderation training.
Tech Award Bite Sized Videos
There are lots of information contained in the Bite Sized Videos. There is a recording of the Start the Year network event that took place last month. If you missed the event you can watch the recording.
Key Dates for 2023/2024
There is a new Key dates document for the Tech Award. It contains all the dates that you will need for registering students for the course to making enteries for the PSAs.
Tech Award retakes and resits
Read more about the terminal assessment rules for the Tech Award in the FAQs page. It is important to remember that Learners can retake an internal PSA once in a different moderation window. It must be taken prior to or in the same moderation window as the external assessment. Learners can not take the exam (Component 3) in January and then retake the internal PSAs in the May moderation window. They can retake the PSA if they retake the Exam in the summer series.
BTEC Nationals Health and Social Care - Unit 4
As you are aware, learners entered for the ‘Unit 4 Enquiries into Current Research in Health and Social Care’ (unit code 31494H) external assessment will have 6 hours of monitored preparation within Part A to compile notes on their secondary research and prepare a list of sources they have used to take into the Part B supervised assessment.However, centres do need to send the notes or list of sources to Pearson as these are not assessed. Only the Part B workbook should be sent to Pearson.
Reform of BTEC Nationals in Health and Social Care
Keep up to date with everything about the reform of the Level 3 qualifications . The BTEC nationals in Health and Social Care are unaffected until 2025. You can teach BTEC Nationals with confidence until 2025.
The BTEC Nationals Extended Certificate has been redeveloped and we will keep you updated with what the new specification will look like and how it will need to be delivered. The qualifications have been submitted to the DfE and we are waiting for the response from them about approval and funding.
