Amendment to the GCSE (9-1) Design and Technology student book

The correction is to the information at the top of page 314 regarding rules for the design scenario in Component 2 (Controlled Assessment). The text in the book states that it is not compulsory for students to follow one of the two questions included with each scenario. The correct guidance is that students MUST choose one of these questions (also known as contextual challenges) as stated in the specification and sample assessment material.

We are removing the first three sentences at the top of page 314 and replacing them with the following text:

'Each design scenario, or theme, will include two questions, known as contextual challenges. Whichever scenario or theme you pick, you must choose one contextual challenge to explore and respond to through your assessment project.'
