Construction now included in Key Stage 4 performance tables (2020 results) in England

Teaching Construction at Key Stage 4?

We’ve recently received feedback from the DFE that they have approved the BTEC First Award in Construction and the Built Environment for performance tables in England (2020 results).

The DFE approved of the changes we made to the qualification specification and assessment, which is applicable from September 2018. The changes include improvements to the synoptic links in the specification, in particular to unit ‘Construction and Design’. The external assessment has been increased slightly in length to 1 hour 15 mins with greater marks available. An optional unit has also been removed to ensure an element of every unit can be assessed synoptically, and better link back to teaching in the mandatory synoptic unit.
