We are happy to announce that the specification for new BTEC Higher National Qualification in Construction and the Built Environment (2017) RQF is now available. 

The qualification has been developed in conjunction with key stakeholders including higher education institutions, employers, and professional bodies.

With this new Higher National (HN) we aim to provide your students with the most relevant content; addressing the skills gaps faced by local employers and making sure they have opportunities to progress both professionally and academically.

For the new RQF qualifications, we have introduced a few new processes to make sure students, parents and centres will be confident in the quality and standards of these qualifications.

Classroom Picture

Depending on individual needs, and subject to development approval, you could commission locally-devised units to be accredited in any of the new HNs in:

  • Business
  • General Engineering
  • Nuclear Engineering
  • Aeronautical Engineering
  • Construction
  • Computing
  • Art and Design

You can use existing units from these HNs, combined with your own locally-devised units, to create a different HN title or commission an HN in a completely new subject area.
