The Curriculum and Assessment Review: our response

The Curriculum and Assessment Review is an important milestone for education and skills in the UK – and it’s just the beginning.

We welcome the Review’s support for many of the recommendations we shared. All of these have been inspired by our work with schools and colleges across the country. And we’ll keep working to build an education system that empowers students, champions teachers, and drives the UK’s long-term success.

As we now move from ideas into further action, we’ll keep collaborating with educators, students, partners, sector experts to drive manageable and truly impactful change.

We’ve already started to do this and would love for you to join us in our next steps.

Join our Facebook group

We’ve just launched a brand-new teacher group for GCSE Citizenship!

It’s a dedicated space just for Citizenship teachers, a place to swap ideas, share what’s working in your classroom, and ask any questions you might have.
I’ll be running the group, and I’d love for you to join us. It’s private, professional, and designed to support you in your teaching journey.

Enrichment opportunities

ACT is holding an online panel discussion to explore the Independent Curriculum and Assessment Review Panel’s key recommendations and their potential implications for Citizenship teaching from KS1 to post-16.

It is also an opportunity to discuss prospective updates to the Citizenship curriculum and how these changes may be implemented across schools in England.
