Pearson Edexcel Citizenship- Future UK Qualifications

As we look ahead to curriculum and assessment reform, we really want to hear directly from those teaching GCSE Citizenship day in, day out.

We’ve created a short survey to give centres the chance to share their views.

Your feedback will play an important role in making sure centre voices are heard as future thinking develops.

If you can spare just a few minutes, we’d be very grateful if you could take part.

Teaching and Learning Resources

We’ve just published a detailed guide to understanding Active Citizenship, designed to help you feel confident guiding students through planning, carrying out and evidencing their action.

The guide includes:

  • Clear explanations of what Active Citizenship looks like in practice
  • How it links to the specification and assessment expectations
  • A real case study showcasing a successful Active Citizenship project
  • Candidate responses from 2025 series

You can access the guide via our GCSE Citizenship Teaching + Learning materials or by clicking below:

Understanding Active Citizenship Guide

Please note you will need your Edexcel Online log in to access this resource as it contains secure materials.

As we start to gear up for the GCSE Citizenship exams this summer, I thought it would be useful to remind you of the readily available resources that we have to support.

Exam Question Overviews

Available for each paper, collating all past exam questions.

*You will need your Edexcel Online login to access these as it includes the most recent exam materials.

Top exam tips

Just a reminder that we also have exemplars available from both papers which help teachers and students see what different mark levels actually look like in full responses.
