T Levels September 2026 update
Welcome to September’s T Level Update, your first for this academic year with everything you need to know to get the year off to a great start.
This month's update includes a reminder to check your approval status, particularly if you're delivering the T Levels in Health or Science, your autumn term key dates, training events and your usual sector updates.

Things to do this month
Before you start delivering a Technical Qualification, your centre must be approved by Pearson for that qualification.
The approval window for the 2026/27 academic year ran from February to June 2026. If you haven't submitted an application yet, contact us as soon as possible so we can discuss your next steps.
If you're involved in delivering or administering Technical Qualifications, join our annual exams officer and administrator training event on Wednesday 4 November at 1.30pm.
We'll cover the key processes you'll manage throughout the year, including qualification approval, registrations, entries and assessment scheduling, helping you feel confident supporting Technical Qualifications at your centre.
You can now register students for Technical Qualifications starting this academic year.
Make sure you submit your registrations by 1 November. Registrations received from 2 November onwards will incur late fees.

You can now make your core component entries for the autumn series. Make sure you submit an entry for every student taking the assessment. If you're entering students for a resit, check the resit rules before you submit your entries.
The deadline to make entries is 6 October. Entries received from 7 October onwards will incur late fees.

Once you've made your entries, you'll start receiving question papers, attendance registers and labels for the autumn series from 17 November.
You'll use the yellow label service to return completed scripts for this series.

If you need an electronic copy of a question paper, for example because you've made a very late entry or need to print on coloured paper, you can download one from the assessment download page. You'll need Secure Download Service access on your Edexcel Online account to access secure materials.
You can now make your occupational specialism entries for the summer 2027 series. Make sure you submit an entry for every student taking an assessment.
Make sure you submit your entries by 6 October. Entries received from 7 October onwards will incur late fees.
We've updated the administrative support guides for the new academic year. Make sure you download the latest versions from the admin support page to help you manage registrations, entries, assessments and results.

Use the September 2026 specification for core teaching
Core assessments from summer 2027 onwards will be based on the September 2026 specification. If you're teaching the core content this academic year, make sure you're using the correct version of the specification for your subject.

We're developing the next-generation Accounting specification for first teaching from September 2027 and would like to hear your views.

Core assessments from summer 2027 onwards will be based on the September 2026 specification. If you're teaching the core content this academic year, make sure you're using the updated specification.
The updated content includes clearer language, corrections and additional examples to help you understand what students need to teach. We've also produced a changes overview document that summarises the updates between the previous and current specifications.

The summer 2026 examiner reports for the core examination, employer set project and occupational specialism assessments are now available.
They include examples of student responses at different performance levels, helping you understand assessment expectations and inform your teaching.

The 2026 papers for the core examination, employer set project and occupational specialism assessments are now available.
Use them for mock assessments, classroom activities and practice work to help students become familiar with the format and expectations of each assessment.
We'll upload more learning resources for all three Digital T Levels this month, so keep an eye out for updates on each qualification's course materials page.
Make sure you're approved to deliver Health with Pearson
If you haven't yet applied for approval to deliver the T Level in Health, you need to do so as soon as possible and before you start delivery.
You'll need to complete the approval forms and provide the required supporting information. Once you've completed your application, send it to ukqualsapprovalswebform@pearson.com.

Join upcoming Health training events
If you've got questions about delivering the T Level in Health, join the fortnightly From questions to confidence drop-in sessions. They're free to attend and give you the chance to submit questions in advance and hear answers during the live session.

Download the updated specification and sample assessment materials
Version 1.2 of the T Level in Health specification is now available. This replaces version 1.1, so make sure you're referring to version 1.2 when planning your delivery. The updates are minor and don't affect live assessments or require changes to the teaching you've already planned.

Look out for new support materials coming soon
We're reviewing a scheme of work for Health and expect it to be available online this month. You can also expect topic packs, lesson plans, lesson slide decks and additional schemes of work for the core programme, so keep an eye on the course materials page for future releases.
Help shape the 2027 specifications
We're developing the next-generation specifications and assessments for Management and Administration and Engineering, with first teaching planned for September 2027.
The updated qualifications are being designed to improve clarity and accessibility, support providers with assessment delivery and strengthen progression opportunities for students.
The new specifications are expected to be published in early 2027. If you'd like early sight of draft specifications and assessments, and the opportunity to share feedback before submission, contact Andrew.hambelton@pearson.com to join the relevant provider panel.

A new mapping guide is on the way to help you understand how different areas of the qualification connect and support curriculum planning. You'll also see additional teaching resources added to the course materials page over the coming months, including topic-level guidance, presentations, student worksheets and teacher answer materials.
