Things to do this month

Your BTEC cohort declaration for summer 2026 is now open for you to complete by 30 January 2026.

This declaration helps us build a shared, accurate picture of the students expecting results in August 2026, meaning we can work together to make sure your students can receive their results on time in August.

If you’re an exams officer or a quality nominee, you can log in to the VQ Learner Tracker with your Edexcel Online credentials to view your cohort, update your summer tags and complete your declaration.

If you need to make any amendments to your T Level estimated completion dates, you can email completinglearners@pearson.com, attaching the T Level amendment spreadsheet

The entry window for core assessments for the summer 2026 series is now open. You must make an entry for every student wishing to enter the assessment.

If you are making resit entries, make sure you’re familiar with the resit rules, which you can find in the specification or watch our ‘assessment, results and resits video’ on the admin support page.

Can’t make a session? Don’t worry; we’ll share recorded videos and resources via LinkedIn and our website, so keep an eye out for updates throughout February.

The Department for Education has adjusted the resit period for all students who have started a T Level from September 2024.

Students will now have one further academic year to complete their T Level and access resits. For example, if a student started their two-year programme in September 2024, they will naturally complete August 2026, meaning they have one further year (academic year 2026/27) to access any additional resits.

If you’re delivering T Levels in Craft and Design or Media, Broadcast and Production, we’ll be releasing new resources on the T Level training page this month to support internal marking of occupational specialisms.

These will include recorded walkthroughs of sample assessment materials, so you can feel confident throughout delivery and submission.

We’ll also publish an updated admin support guide for Craft and Media occupational specialisms. This will cover key dates, how to submit marks, how samples are selected, how to upload student work, and the moderation process.

Sector updates

Available now: new occupational specialism from 2025/26

Don't foget, we've introduced the Project Delivery for Construction and the Built Environment occupational specialism as part of the 2025 Gen 2 specification. To help you prepare, you’ll find specimen assessment materials, a practice project resource and guide standard exemplification materials on the course materials page.
