T Level April 2020 Update
Welcome to our April T Levels bulletin.
We're excited to be delivering the first wave of T Level qualifications in Construction and Digital and are delighted that they are now approved by the Institute and accredited by Ofqual.
Throughout their development we've utilised our longstanding collaboration and partnership with employers and Providers to design and develop world class qualifications in these industries.
T Levels represent a significant opportunity to strengthen the recognition and value of technical education in England. We look forward to continuing to work with you to ensure their successful implementation, and to support your students as they begin their programmes of study in September.
We have published our Specimen Assessment Materials and specification on our T Level website. These can be accessed via the links below:
For those of you who are 2020 Providers we have been communicating with you about our Provider Approval Process and the need to become an Approved Provider before commencing delivery this September.
At the beginning of the year we extended the deadline of our Provider Approval Process to the end of May 2020.
Due to Covid19 we are extending the date by which we require your Technical Qualification Approval Form to 30 June 2020.
It is really important that we receive your application by this date so that we can process it in time to ensure that you have the right level of resources and staffing in place to successfully deliver the qualifications in September 2020.

We look forward to receiving your application. In the meantime, if you have any questions please send these through via our service portal.
We had a number of face to face training events planned for this summer to support all Providers in Getting to Know the Specification, and Getting Started: Ways to Teach and Assess.
However, in light of the unprecedented times we find ourselves in we will be making some slight adjustments.
Our training events will still continue. However, these will now take place via webinar, rather than face to face. And in some cases we have broken the day up into smaller bite size chunks.
We are prioritising 2020 Providers for events taking place this summer. However, these events will run again to support those of you embarking on T Levels in later waves, and they will be recorded so anyone will be able to access them as and when they want.
We will be running a Getting to Know the Specification event for both Construction and Digital for 2020 Providers. The event will be split into two parts, part A and part B - please ensure you attend both parts. If you are unable to attend one of the parts it will be recorded.
Construction: Design, surveying and planning
- Part A - Core component 1.5 hour webinar on 12th May 13:30PM - 15:00PM 2.
- Part B - Occupational specialism(s) 1.5 hour webinar on 13th May 13:30PM - 15:00PM

Having reviewed the content, the trainer will show how the knowledge, understanding and skills required translate into the assessment.
We will also be running a Getting Started event for both Construction and Digital for 2020 Providers. The event will be split into four parts, A, B, C and D each will be 2 hours in duration - please ensure you attend all four parts. (If you are unable to attend one of the parts it will be recorded.) This course will guide you on how to practically deliver the Specification, with a focus on planning your Technical Qualification delivery.
