An update on TQ development

Over the last few months we have been working on the development of the Technical Qualification for both the Construction: Design Surveying and Planning and Digital: Production, Design and Development T Levels.

We’re pleased to say that the development is on track. Milestone 1 was on the 20th May and we successfully submitted the following materials to the IfATE for review.

Construction

  • Content for Core & Occupational Specialisms
  • Assessment Outline for Civil Engineering
  • Assessment Outline for Employer Set Project
  • Sample questions for Core assessments

Digital

  • Content for Core & Occupational Specialism
  • Assessment Outline for Occupational Specialism
  • Assessment Outline for Employer Set Project
  • Sample questions for Core assessments

We’re now waiting for feedback from the IfATE, which is due at the end of June. However, we’re not resting on our laurels — development work will continue.

To give you early sight of what the TQs look like and support your planning and we will be delivering a webinar for each.

You can book you place here:

  • Construction Design Surveying and Planning T Level webinar on the 25th June, 3pm
  • Digital Production, Design and Development T Level webinar on the 27th June, 3pm

You will have the opportunity to post questions ahead of the event, plus ask questions at the end of the session.

What will you learn?

Each webinar will last for an hour and give you some insight on the following:

  • Content for Core & Occupational Specialism
  • Assessment Outline for Occupational Specialism
  • Assessment Outline for Employer Set Project
  • Sample questions for Core assessments

Who should attend?

  • 2020 and 2021 tutors for the Construction Design Surveying and Planning T Level or Digital Production, Design and Development T Level.
  • Tutors or Senior Leaders considering delivering the Construction Design Surveying and Planning T Level or Digital Production, Design and Development T Level in the future.

Don’t forget, you can still get involved in our Provider Panel.

Each TQ will have its own individual Provider Panel that will contribute to the design, development and implementation of the TQ. The panel will be held at strategic points during the TQ lifecycle, possibly once a term. Its remit will include a review of early specification and assessment concepts, to provide insight on centre manageability and delivery of the qualification and assessment; to collaborate with us on building provider capacity for TQ delivery; and providing lifecycle feedback to ensure students experience high-quality delivery and support.

The date for our first panel is 19th August and will take place in our London offices on 80 Strand. We will shortly be sending out a hold the date email to those selected to join a panel.

If you would like to get involved in a Provider Panel, please let us know and express your interest via our web form.

All the best,
The Pearson T Levels Team
