We send a monthly T Level E Bulletins to all those who have signed up to the distribution list. Our E Bulletins provide you with on-going communication about the development and delivery of Pearson’s T Levels; its where we advertise our training and network events, tell you about delivery materials and web uploads, remind you of important actions such as student registration, entry onto assessment windows, and provider approval, and where we will tell you anything specific about the delivery of the assessment tasks.

We are aware some tutors and staff have not signed up to receive these, could you please encourage all those engaged in the delivery and administration of T Levels to sign up.

Pearson are currently in the initial stages of the development of the T Level Technical Qualification in Legal Services.

We have just received feedback from Ofqual and IfATE following our first milestone submission that took place in April. For this milestone we submitted high-level drafts of the expanded Core Component content and specification, and the specimen assessments for the Core Component.

The Core Component has two assessment elements; two externally set and marked exams and an Employer Set Project. The Core Component is on track for its next milestone in June.

The T Level Technical Qualification in Legal Services has two occupational specialisms:

  • Legal Services Assistant Business, Finance, and Employment

  • Legal Services Assistant Crime, Criminal Justice, and Social Welfare

The content for both these specialisms has been expanded, but the skills are still being defined and developed. For milestone one we submitted expanded Occupational Specialist content along with a sample of the assessment tasks. We are now working with Ofqual’s feedback to refine the skills and complete all the assessment tasks prior to our next Occupational Specialism milestone in July.

Pearson are working with the Chartered Institiute of Legal Executives (CILEX) on the design and development of the T Level Technical Qualification in Legal Services.

CILEX and their professional members will work in partnership with us to create a Technical Qualification (TQ) that supports the professional standards for the sector. Our partnership with CILEX will go wider than the TQ specification content and assessment: we will work together to share expertise and ensure the T Level in Legal Services supports progression directly into the CILEX Professional Qualification (CPQ) Framework. Look at our Employer Partnership page to find out more.

We are seeking expressions of interest for our Legal Services Provider Validation Panel (PVP) – this is where we ask you to take part in the development and work with us to make sure the Technical Qualification is right for your students and manageable for you to deliver.

To become a member, you must:

  • be intending on delivering Legal Services in September 2023.

  • be experienced in delivering Legal or Law qualifications/units.

  • be able to attend PVP meetings (these will be remote, via teams or zoom) to discuss content, assessment, manageability, resources etc.

Let us know if you want to join the PVP, please remember to select which subject area you would like to join.

For those of you delivering the T Level in Legal Services from September 2023 being part of the panel will give you early insight to the specification and assessments as they are developed. Not only does this give you the opportunity to feed into content, assessment type, manageability, resourcing etc. it also allows you to prepare your curriculum and delivery before the final specifications are published.

Pearson will be hosting a Legal Services webinar for all Providers who are delivering this T Level. We are currently in the development phase of this TQ, this webinar will walk you through what the draft content and assessments currently look like with an aim to help you plan your student recruitment in the Autumn term.

The webinar will take place on Thursday, 23rd June 2022: 15:00 - 16:30.
