Update on Functional Skills legacy extension
Ofqual has confirmed that learners due to complete their Functional Skills assessment(s) in English, Maths and ICT between March and July 2020 will not be expected to undertake their assessment(s). Instead, we will issue a calculated grade based on a range of evidence and data, which will involve centre and teacher input.
Ofqual has also confirmed that the legacy Functional Skills qualifications in English and Maths have been extended and the last certification date is now the 31st December 2020. This will allow your learners on these qualifications additional time to complete, especially the learners you have judged not to have been ready to complete as part of the calculated results process.
New Timelines for Legacy Qualifications
In order to ensure that your learners can be certificated on time, Pearson has produced the following updated timelines for the legacy qualifications:
|Last external test date for paper based and onscreen*||31st October 2020|
|Last Standards Verifier visit (if needed)||31st October 2020|
|Last Certification date||31st December 2020|
*For Paper Based test booking, please be aware that we need a minimum of 14 days' notice.
