November 2017 will be the first November series for both reformed GCSE (9-1) qualifications in mathematics (1MA1) and English language (1EN0)

Each student who takes GCSE (9-1) English Language and/or Mathematics assessment in a November series must have reached at least the age of 16 on or before 31 August in the same calendar year as the assessment. This is stated clearly in the conditions and requirements published by Ofqual.
