Following guidance from Ofqual, the controlled assessment task cycle for GCSE English and English Language will run by calendar year.
This is so that the same task is valid for the summer and November exams series each year.
As a result, the tasks and texts that were released on 1 June 2012 for submission by 15 May 2014 (for example, for 5EH01, 'Children's Literature' and 'Online Social Networking') will be valid for November 2013, summer 2014 and November 2014. The tasks released on 1 June 2013 for summer 2015 will also be valid for November 2015.
Please note that this does not affect GCSE English Literature or GCSE Digital Communication as these qualifications do not have a November series.
