Amendment to the GCSE Poetry Anthology: Relationships Collection

We have recently been made aware that one of the stanzas in ‘1st Date – She’ was missing from our GCSE Poetry Anthology when submitted for inclusion.

We understand that teachers and students are, correctly and as instructed, using the version of ‘1st Date’ printed in the anthology. Therefore, we will of course continue to accept responses based on this version of the poem.

A letter to apologise for the omission and an insert of the full poem has been sent out to all centres who made entries for the 2018 Pearson Edexcel GCSE (9-1) English Literature summer examinations.

We have also become aware of a typographical error in line 19 of ‘1st Date – She’ that was introduced during the recent update of the poem. The poem should read ‘He is totally into this music’ and not ‘He is totally into his music’. Apologies for any confusion this has caused.
