Amendments to new 2016 BTEC Level 3 Nationals in Performing Arts
In response to feedback from teachers about the new 2016 BTEC Level 3 Nationals in Performing Arts, we've made the following changes:
We have added a list of practitioners to the unit content. This means that students can select at least one of the practitioners listed when responding to the externally set task. Each externally set task will require the students to refer to the repertoire of two practitioners; one or both of them can be selected from the list in the unit.
Please see below the information that will be inserted in the amended sections:
Summary of Assessment
Learners will investigate and critically analyse the work of two practitioners in response to the task set by the awarding body. At least one practitioner must be selected from the list in section A of the essential content.

For the purposes of this unit, a practitioner is defined as an individual or a company with international recognition and an established reputation and presence.
The information above will be included in a revised version of the specifications and in Unit 1 Sample Assessment Materials. These will be available on our website from July 2016.
