Changes to BTEC National (2016) Diploma in Retail - June 2016 update
In April, we updated you on the Department for Education (DfE) announcement regarding their final Lists of approved Applied General and Tech Level qualifications for 16-19 year-old learners in England, covering performance measures for 2018 results.
Following a further review we wanted to let you know that the BTEC National Diploma in Retail was not included on the Tech Level List. We’ve therefore decided to withdraw this qualification and redevelop it for first teaching in September 2017. We’ll make sure we keep you up to date.
Your options for September 2016
If you were planning to teach this qualification in September 2016, you could consider the following alternatives:
It’s possible to complete the Business Diploma in September 2016, and choose two of the following four optional units that cross over with Retail:
- Investigating Retail Business
- Visual Merchandising
- Recruitment and Selection Process
- Team Building in Business
