BTEC Higher Nationals in Hair and Beauty Management will expire in August 2019
This qualification is due to expire on 31 August 2019. Final registrations should be made by this date, allowing students to certificate by 2024.
Having assessed the qualification, the decision has been taken not to extend it beyond August 2019. We have taken the following into account when making this decision:
- Number of centres currently deliver the qualifications
- Number of student registrations
- Lack of direct progression route from lower level BTEC qualifications
- Suitability of qualification content
- Age of the qualifications
- Legacy Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) qualification. In 2015 the QCF was withdrawn and replaced with the Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF). Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals qualifications are now developed on the RQF framework, which requires a different assessment methodology
- Qualifications have previously been extended
Centres may wish to commission an alternative qualification, via the Higher Nationals Commissioned service, with the option for interested centers to share development costs.
We would work closely with centres to create a qualification which meets current requirements, local sector and employer needs.
