Supporting teaching and learning

We have created a guide to help you with the teaching and learning for our Pearson BTEC Higher National qualifications in 2020/2021.

The guide takes into consideration public health guidance and how teaching can continue either face to face or remotely this academic year. We have provided guidance on temporary distance learning approval, including how and when to apply if you know that you will need to continue to use distance learning in 2020-2021.

At this stage we know that Centre Assessment Grades will not be available during the academic year 2020-2021. As such we have provided the guide above to support you in setting assessments which can be taken by students even if access to normal teaching facilities and resources is limited.

As is the case for Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals, all centres will need to hold an Assessment Board before claiming certificates for students and you may wish to hold the meeting virtually.

We will confirm before the end of October 2020 how we plan to conduct External Examiner visits during the 2020/2021 academic year.

We wish you and your students all the best for 2020/21.

Please do contact us if you have any questions.

Best wishes,

Jane Baker
Vice President, Higher Education Qualifications
