This will be my last update for you for 6 months. From Monday 13 February I am moving to another team within Pearson to work on some other projects and will return to the Subject Advisor role later this year. Please do continue to use teachingmusic@pearson.com to submit your questions as we have the support in place to cover my absence. I wish you and your students all the best for assessments over the coming months.

Assessment results and entries

The results for the January series of BTEC Firsts external assessments and the internally assessed components for the BTEC Tech Award in Music Practice (2022) will be released to centres on 22 March 2023 with results being released to learners on 23 March 2023.

Any learners that you want to sit the external assessments in the June series should have their entries made by 24 March 2023. Learners who sat BTEC assessments in the January 2023 series can be re-entered for June exams after January results have been issued, and no late fees will be charged. The entry deadline for these learners is 31 March 2023.

If you have learners that wish to sit the internally assessed components for the BTEC Tech Award in Music Practice (2022) then the entry deadline is 21 February 2023. If you have learners that wish to resit a component after taking it in the January series the entry deadline is 1 April 2023, so that you have time to receive results from the January series.

The PSAs for submission of marks and moderation sample by 1 May are released on the website on 6 February 2023.
