Guidance documents by qualification
Please download the guidance document for the language qualification(s) that you teach. They include key dates for the summer 2022 series, exam material availability and post-results services (access to scripts, reviews of marking and appeals).
Scaling guidance for linear language qualifications
To reflect the correct paper weightings, raw marks from certain papers of linear languages qualifications need to be scaled to reach the scaled subject mark.
If considering a review of marking, it’s important to note that any change in raw mark that results in a change of ‘notional grade’ at a paper level may not equate to a change of grade at qualification level. Detailed guidance for each linear language qualification where scaling is required is provided below.
Understanding summer 2022 results
Grade boundaries in 2022 may be lower or higher than when summer exams were last sat in 2019, as in any other year. However, the proportion of learners achieving each grade for qualifications will be more generous than 2019 but lower than 2021. Provisional grade statistics for 2022 are now available on our website for further analysis.

We wish all students, their families and teachers the very best of luck with this summer's results. I look forward to supporting you throughout the next academic year.
