September 2024 Subject Advisors Update
September Subject Advisors update for BTEC Level 3 and 2/1 qualifications.
Welcome back, I hope you had a good break and are ready for the new year. I am excited about the new BTEC Nationals (AAQ) starting in 2025 and the training that we have coming up for them. The first Tech Awards (2022) have been completed and I hope your Learners got the results they deserve after all the hard work.

Training events for the Tech Awards
There is a number of new Training events for the Tech Award in Health and Social Care for the new academic year. These events have been updated and renewed.
You can see all the prerecorded training, Bite size videos and book your place on one of the training sessions on the training page for the Tech Awards.
New Live PSA
The PSA (Component 1 and 2) for the December/January moderation window has been released and you can use it with your prepared learners now.
It must be completed and uploaded to Pearson for moderation by 15 December.

Information about the Government Pause to Level 3 Review
The pause announced by the Government regarding some qualifications does not affect the BTEC Nationals in Health and Social Care , they will be defunded in Summer 2025, as per the previous information.
New BTEC Nationals Health and Social Care and Medical Science (AAQ)
You can read the new specifications for these qualifications and begin to get to know more about them. They will be for first teach September 2025. We will ensure that you are well prepared to teach these new qualifications.
