How Pearson Assured English works

Using the existing Pearson Assured framework we have developed the Pearson Assured English service by adding a bespoke Quality Objective in the Management of Learning. This supports the development of training programmes incorporating the Global Scale of English Learning Objectives.

We have specialist Pearson Assured English Quality Advisers who will carry out thorough evaluations of your quality systems before awarding Pearson Assured English status. You’ll need to supply evidence to support your centre’s quality systems against each of all the Pearson Assured Quality Objective so that our Quality Advisers can review your centre against our quality measures. It is mandatory for Pearson Assured English to apply the Pearson Assured Assessment Quality Objectives that are optional for Pearson Assured centres.

You will need to be able to clearly document that your curriculum and lessons align to the Global Scale of English Learning Objectives.

As part of the quality assurance process, we will visit your centre to complete a quality review. Following the review, you will then be advised as to whether your application has been successful. Pearson has the right not to award Pearson Assured English status or to withdraw the Pearson Assured English Approved Centre status if serious quality issues are found.

We’ll follow this up with a visit to your centre to complete the review. You will then be advised as to if your application has been successful. We have the right not to award Pearson Assured English status or to withdraw the Pearson Assured English Approved Centre status if serious quality issues are found.

How do I become a Pearson Assured centre?

Contact our support centre to express your interest in becoming a Pearson Assured English centre.

You will be contacted by a local Pearson representative to discuss your requirements. Our representative will help you decide if you are ready for Pearson Assured English approved centre status and we will be your point of reference and guide you through the approval process.

Your Pearson representative will make sure you are referencing the current Pearson Assured Services Handbook and Policy, Pearson Global Scale of English Learning Objectives. This will enable you to complete the Pearson Assured English application form with your Pearson representative who will then submit it to internationalvqapprovals@pearson.com.

One of our specialist Pearson Assured English Quality Advisers will contact you to arrange a visit to your organisation to conduct a review of your quality management systems.

If all quality measures are met, you’ll receive a letter confirming your Pearson Assured English Status immediately for one year, a centre approval certificate and a Pearson Assured English ‘Approved Centre’ plaque.

If all quality measures are not met the Quality Adviser report will help you identify what areas you need to approve and you can resubmit your application after twelve months.

How long does approval take?

If there are no major errors or operational issues raised in the application process, our aim is to have you approved within ten weeks of application.
