Update on Component 2 for A Level, GCSE, and International GCSE Art and Design
Please note, the Component 2: Externally Set Assignment paper is padlocked and will require an Edexcel Online login to download. Edexcel Online accounts are managed by your Exams Officer / EOL administrator so please check with them if you need access.
The assessment window for the GCSE Art and Design Externally Set Assignment (ESA) begins 2 January 2024.
The paper is available to download from the qualification Course Materials page under the ‘June 2024’ drop-down menu within the Exam Materials category.

The release date for the International GCSE Art and Design Externally Set Assignment (ESA) is 2 January 2024. We are reminding centres that they must not open the papers until this date. Centres who receive their ESA papers early must keep them safely and securely until the release date of 2 January 2024.
On 2 January 2024, the Component 2 ESA can be seen by both staff and students. It will also be available to download from this date on the qualification Course Materials page under the ‘June 2024’ drop-down menu within the Exam Materials category.

On 1 February 2024, the Component 2 ESA can be seen by both staff and students. It will also be available to download from this date on the qualification Course Materials page under the ‘June 2024’ drop-down menu within the Exam Materials category.
I will be running a free Component 2 network event in January to discuss creative approaches to planning and delivery. This event is suitable for centres who deliver A Level, GCSE, and International GCSE Art and Design.
Book training and network events at Pearson Professional Development Academy
There will be a session 16:00 – 17:00 GMT on 10 January 2024, which is currently available to book.
There will be another session 10:00 – 11:00 GMT 18 January 2024 to cater to centres in different time zones. Bookings for this event will open soon on the Pearson Professional Development Academy linked above so watch this space.
In addition, if you signed up for our December events, due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to reschedule these for the new year.
