All BTEC Nationals (2010, QCF) approved for 19-23 entitlement funding in 2016/17 will continue to be eligible in 2017/18 (with the exception of the Public Services qualifications). They all have a last date for new starters of 31 July 2018. The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) confirm 19-23 funding on an annual basis. This information is also confirmed on the funding hub.

NB: The 19-23 entitlement funding for 2018/9 has yet to be confirmed. We will update you as soon as we have that information, which is likely to be available in spring 2018.

These qualifications all carry UCAS points.

FAQs

What is the last registration date?

Currently learners can be registered up to the dates indicated above. We regularly review our qualifications and will continue to do to ensure there is no gap in provision. We will notify centres in the event that the qualifications are extended or when an operational end date is set.

Why have you updated the approval dates on Edexcel Online?

We listened to customer and stakeholder feedback that it was confusing to have different dates for the various sizes, sectors and nations. We have tried to align to a single date wherever possible.

This is now in line with the information on the Ofqual Portal and various linked databases.

Will these titles appear on performance measures?

None of these titles appear on performance measures counting in 2018 tables onwards.

If you are interested in qualifications which are on performance measures, please see our new range of Applied General and Tech Level qualifications at Level 3 introduced for first teaching in 2016 and 2017.
