Extension to the SIA Licence Linked Qualifications

The SIA licence linked qualifications listed below have a review date of 31 December 2019. We are pleased to confirm that the last registration date will be extended until 31 March 2020. The last certification date has been extended: learners registered by 31 March 2020 will be able to resit the external tests between 1 April and 31 August 2020. If learners do not pass the external tests and do not complete their qualification by 31 August 2020, they will be required to register on the new version of the qualification that will be available from 1 April 2020.

This applies to:

• Pearson BTEC Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry
• Pearson BTEC Level 2 Award for Working as a CCTV Operator within the Private Security Industry
• Pearson BTEC Level 2 Award for Working as a Security Officer within the Private Security Industry
• Pearson BTEC Level 2 Award for Working as a Vehicle Immobiliser within the Private Security Industry
• Pearson BTEC Level 2 Award for Upskilling a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry
• Pearson BTEC Level 3 Award for Deliverers of Physical Intervention Training within the Private Security Industry

Please note: the Pearson BTEC Level 3 Certificate for Working as a Close Protection Operative within the Private Security Industry will be extended until 31 December 2020. It will be replaced with a new version in January 2021.

Extension to the Spectator Safety Qualifications

SkillsActive have recently reviewed the Spectator Safety NOS and new standards have been approved and published. We are working with SkillsActive to update the Level 2, 3 and 4 NVQs in Spectator Safety based on the new standards and the new, updated qualifications will be available for first registration from July 2020. In the meantime, the following qualifications have been extended until 30 June 2020:
