Registering learners for security qualifications

The SIA has advised that it is experiencing an increase in the failure rate of licence applications because applicants' names have been recorded incorrectly at their training provider. Please ensure that the learner’s full name is entered accurately and as shown on their identity documents when you are registering them. The name recorded at registration must match the names on the identity documents submitted to the SIA.

Please remind learners to check that their name has been recorded accurately. If the name on the qualification database does not match their identity documents, their application will be refused. The SIA will return identity documents to awarding organisations for amendment, which will cause delays in the licence application or renewal process while we work with you to update the learner’s record.
