Engineering Sector update - October 2016
Important update to Engineering SASE Frameworks and withdrawal of SASE frameworks. October 2016.
As a result of the recent review of qualifications by Ofqual on qualifications that have not had any certifications for the last 2 years, the following Engineering, Manufacturing and Automotive qualifications will be withdrawn between 30 September 2016 and 31 December 2016. Certification end dates have been set as 2 years for Level 2 qualifications and 3 years for Level 3 and above qualifications to allow currently registered learners to complete. If you feel that you will require longer to complete your learners please let your Account Manager know as soon as possible so this can be discussed with Ofqual.
The relevant Sector Skills Councils or Sector Skills Bodies have been informed where these qualifications are part of a current SASE/SASW Apprenticeship Framework and it is expected that these will be removed from the documentation at the next planned review.

Withdrawal of SASE Frameworks
The following SASE frameworks are scheduled for withdrawal by the Skills Funding Agency over the coming months. In most cases, alternative delivery is available via an Apprenticeship Standard.
