We are making a small presentational change to AS and A level Maths and AS and A level Further Maths question papers to improve accessibility.
From the January 2027 series for International qualifications and the June 2027 series for UK qualifications, instructional statements and additional guidance currently shown in italics will instead appear in standard text.
This does not change the wording, assessment demand or teaching of the qualifications, and centres do not need to take any action.

The conference offers an excellent opportunity to explore effective pedagogy, develop engaging classroom approaches, share ideas with other teachers and take away strategies you can use straight away in your lessons.

Maths Appeal podcast is back!
Maths teachers and champions Bobby Seagull and Susan Okereke return for a brand-new monthly series, in partnership with Pearson.
Created for maths teachers, heads of department, school leaders and everyone passionate about maths education, each episode brings together honest conversations, practical ideas and fresh perspectives on the issues shaping maths teaching today.
For the first episode, secondary maths teacher and content creator Faze joins Bobby and Susan to talk about starting the new academic year with confidence.
Curriculum reform for GCSE Maths is well underway.
We will be hosting a series of webinars to keep teachers informed of key changes and where teachers can engage with the wider maths community to discuss their thoughts on the draft content, the possible implications for teaching and learning, ask questions and share insights.
We'll also be sharing ways that you can get involved with the public consultation and take part in our own research to inform qualification design for the new GCSE.
