We hope the exam season went well for you and your students.

Now that the exams are over, we would like you to share your feedback on this year's exam papers.  We wish to provide students with the best possible exam experience, and your insights are crucial in helping us achieve this goal.

These worksheets offer a carefully selected set of questions that mirror the style and challenge of the Advanced Extension Award (AEA) in Mathematics. They’re perfect for helping students build confidence and familiarity with the demands of AEA-style problems—whether they’re just beginning to explore enrichment opportunities or preparing for the real thing.

🧠 Why this matters:

We know how important it is to keep your most able learners engaged and motivated. These worksheets are a great way to spark curiosity, deepen mathematical thinking, and support progression beyond the standard curriculum.

✨ What’s inside:

  • A variety of thoughtfully crafted questions
  • Mark scheme, worked solutions and marked worked solutions
  • Exposure to the rigour and reasoning expected at AEA level
  • A supportive introduction to advanced problem-solving

In response to recent teacher feedback, we have updated the General Marking Guidance on pages 3–4 of the sample assessment materials for Level 3 Certificate in Mathematics in Context.

This update is intended to support you better with the marking of in class assessments and does not reflect any change to the marking approach. The changes include:

  • The addition of isw (ignore subsequent working) under the Guidance on the use of Codes within the mark scheme section.
  • A new section titled Specific Guidance for Mathematics in Context.

We have partnered with the Education Policy Institute (EPI) to fund their latest report, “English and Maths Resits: Drivers of Success”.

Commissioned as part of our #ResitRethink campaign, the report examines what helps – and hinders – the roughly one-third of students in England who must retake English and maths each year.

Download the report and read the findings in full.

As we reach the end of another school year, I want to wish you a restful and happy summer.

We will be here to support you throughout the summer should you need anything. You can access support via the Pearson Support Portal linked below.
