Welcome back after the summer break. I hope you were able to take some time for your self.  

There will be lots of new information for the new year and I will keep you updated with all the new information about the Tech Award (2022), Nationals (2016) and the Firsts. 

Tech Award Health and Social care (2022)

Release of the PSAs (component 1 and 2)

There has been changes made to the release dates of the PSAs. This will give you more time to plan and deliver the content of the PSA. 

December/Janauary moderation- released 2 June (both components)

May moderation- released 1 September (both components)

Changes to the content and tasks

There has been some very minor changes to the specification , you can see the changes in the most up to date specification . Make sure you are using Version 5. 

Specification

There has been a change made to Task 2 for Component 1. Now students are only required to use one factor.  You can see the change in the new Sample Assessment Material and the marking grid for the task. 

Training for the new academic year

There is new training events for the new academic year. There will be Getting started training and Marking and Moderation training (Component 1 and 2).

New BTEC Nationals AAQs

Health and Social Care, Early Childhood Development and Medical Science

These new qualifications can be taught now and replace the Extended certificate from the BTEC Nationals 2016. 

I have written a monthly update specifically for these new subjects which will include all the information that you might need and any new information.
