Our new Pearson Edexcel AS & A Level Politics 2nd edition Student Book publishes at the end of January.

This up-to-date version of the textbook reflects recent political events in the UK, US and across the world. Covering the whole of the two-year AS and A level Edexcel Politics course, including both US and Global options, the book enables all students to access relevant politics support.

  • Reflects the changes in the global political landscape from 2017- 2024.
  • Contains complete and comprehensive coverage of both the A level and AS specifications, and includes support for all components.
  • Provides strong preparation for the exam, with assessment support features including exam-style questions and expert advice.

Coming soon: new 2024 US election case study

We are currently working on a new case study about the 2024 US election to support Politics students. The case study will be made available on our qualification page later this month.

A Level Politics: Building Exam Skills Network Event

This free online network event takes place on 10 February 2025 at 16:00 – 17:00 GMT. It builds on the summer 2024 exam insights event by pulling out some of the key themes from the examiner feedback to help your students develop their exam skills. It considers some of the features of stronger answers, explores areas where there is room for improvement and considers ways to build student confidence.

Summer 2025 entry deadline

It is now possible to make entries for the Summer 2025 exam series. The deadline for making entries for the Summer 2025 examination series is 21 February 2025 for UK AS and A level qualifications.

After these dates late entry fees may be charged. Please note that your exams officer will have their own internal deadlines in order to get the information necessary to make entries.

Free Politics resources from The Financial Times

The Financial Times offers a scheme where students aged 16-19 and their teachers can read FT.com for free. They also have a web page containing lots of articles mapped to topics covered in the A level Politics specification.
