New Geography Subject Report from Ofsted

Getting our bearings: geography subject report
includes some valuable insights into the shortage of specialist geography teachers, exam specifications becoming a de facto curriculum, and the impact of the pandemic has had on fieldwork. Hopefully some of the resource and training in this update and the breadth and ambition of our comprehensive free support in the ‘Course Materials > Teaching and Learning’ area of each geography qualification page is helping to address some of these issues if you are experiencing them in your school or college.
Free updated A level Place Contexts (Case Studies)
-
Download free topical place contexts (case studies)
We’ve worked with A level Geography teachers from diverse backgrounds to create 12 new place-context examples aligned to the Pearson Edexcel A level Geography specification. These can be used by learners to study the specification content in context. The suggestions are not compulsory – any similar suitable context can be chosen. These examples are free to download and intentionally and significantly include perspectives of people who are under-represented and historically-marginalised so that all our learners can benefit from this positive representation.
