AS and A level 2015 sciences: November 2014 update
This November update provides additional information on the newly-accredited AS and A level 2015 Physics specifications and current status of our draft 2015 AS and A levels in Biology and Chemistry.
Edexcel AS and A level 2015 Physics now accredited
You can find the final accredited specifications and sample assessment materials (SAMs) on our AS and A level Physics 2015 page.
Alongside the specifications and SAMs, you will also find the first of our support materials for Physics: a Getting Started Guide, mapping documents and Schemes of Work.
AS and A level 2015 Biology
Ofqual had just one or two remaining issues with the Edexcel Biology A and Biology B, which we are finishing off to re-submit to Ofqual shortly. We hope to hear back before Christmas.
AS and A level 2015 Chemistry
No awarding body has yet received accreditation for AS and A level Chemistry 2015.
Practical competency criteria
The trial of the practical competency criteria has been taking place this term and we will update you with more information later on.
Launch events
There are still a few free online and face-to-face launch events taking place this term. See our training page for more details.
The information provided at these events is based on our accredited Physics specifications and Sample Assessment Materials, plus the draft Biology and Chemistry specifications and their SAMs submitted to Ofqual, and will be subject to change in the final accredited qualifications.
We'll be putting on some post-accreditation events early next term too. We'll let you know as soon as they're available to book.
