January 2016 science update
Happy New Year and welcome back!
This is just to point out a few things that you may or may not already know about your qualification.
The second slice of GCSE 2016 Science is now available, and please don’t forget to look at the free Year 10 exam resource.

GCSE Astronomy and GCSE Psychology consultations
GCSE Astronomy and GCSE Psychology qualifications are being redeveloped for the first teaching in September 2017.

AS & A Level 2015
For the GCE 2015 Sciences, the second set of SAMs are available in the teaching materials section - they are padlocked as requested for use as a mock exam!
Understanding CPAC training
There are training events available for the CPAC monitoring visit that, if you managed to register for, which will start from January 2016.
If you have not managed to register and cannot get on an online CPAC event, don’t panic, as there will be other training events shortly.
Core practical tasks
The second set of Core Practical tasks will be available mid-end January 2016. Once again there are lots of exciting resources available, so please visit the Biology, Chemistry and Physics specification pages for more information.
For GCE 2008 Sciences, the Chemistry tasks mark schemes will be posted in mid-January 2016. Please remember that:
- all AS and A2 units are available in summer 2016
- units 4, 5 and 6 for the A2 are only available in summer 2017.
AS & A Level Psychology
A Level Psychology has five exemplars available in teaching and learning materials, and they have been silver padlocked as requested.
At the end of January 2016 there will be a document guide available, and this will support you further in delivering your subject.
BTEC in Applied Science
For BTEC Firsts in Applied Science (2012) NQF events, please visit our training page.
There will be 'Getting Ready to Teach Events' available later in the New Year for the BTEC Nationals in Applied Science (2016) NQF.

Please note that although the last registration date for the current BTEC Nationals in applied Science (2010) QCF has been extended to 31 December 2017, they will not appear in the 16-19 performance tables after Summer 2017.
The exam results for the November 2015 Series of the BTEC Firsts in Applied Science (2012) - NQF will be released to centres on 7 January 2016.
