T Levels December 2025 update
Welcome to December’s T Level Update. This month’s update includes our annual review surveys, a deep dive into the summer 2025 core exams, and more insights to help you plan ahead.
Are you missing out on these updates? Make sure you receive the latest news and updates about T Levels directly to your inbox by signing up.
Things to do this month
The Department for Education has adjusted the resit period for all students who have started a T Level from September 2024.
Students will now have one further academic year to complete their T Level and access resits. For example, if a student started their two-year programme in September 2024, they will naturally complete August 2026, meaning they have one further year (academic year 2026/27) to access any additional resits.
Your feedback makes a real difference. Each year, we review all our T Levels to keep them relevant and effective for you and your students.
If you spot anything that needs updating, let us know so we can make sure T Levels continue to meet your needs.
Please complete the short review survey for each T Level you deliver; it should only take a couple of minutes:
- Annual content review: Accounting
- Annual content review: Construction Design, Surveying and Planning
- Annual content review: Craft and Design
- Annual content review: Digital T Levels
- Annual content review: Finance
- Annual content review: Legal Services
- Annual content review: Marketing
- Annual content review: Media, Broadcast and Production
York Consulting, working with Gatsby’s Technical Education Projects (GTEP), is running a short survey to understand what support providers need for T Level delivery, whether you’re delivering now or planning to deliver in the future.
It takes about five minutes to complete, and responses are anonymous. Your input will guide future teaching resources and support.
Please complete the survey by Friday 19 December.
Our annual provider monitoring process has started. Depending on how long you’ve been delivering T Levels with us, you’ll either receive a call or be asked to complete a self-evaluation.
You should already have an email with guidance specific to your centre. Here’s a quick summary of what to expect:
| Your delivery experience | What to expect |
|---|---|
| First-year providers | A provider monitoring call each term in your first year of delivery. |
| First year of occupational specialism | Calls in terms 1 and 2, plus a self-evaluation form in term 3. |
| Third year of delivery or more | Complete a self-evaluation form in term 1. Option to request a monitoring call. |
| Provider with outstanding action plans, maladministration or malpractice | A provider monitoring call each term. |
Please check your email for full guidance and next steps.
You can still make occupational specialism entries for the summer 2026 series; however, any entries made now will be subject to late fees. You must make an entry for every student wishing to enter the assessment.
Want practical tips to boost your students’ performance? Our principal examiners have created on-demand sessions packed with insights to help you guide learners through core exams and employer set projects. There are sessions for:
- Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction
- Digital Production, Design and Development
- Craft and Design
- Media, Broadcast and Production
Find all the recordings under ‘on-demand training’ on our training and admin hub.
If you’re delivering T Levels in Craft and Design or Media, Broadcast and Production, we’ll be releasing new resources in January to support internal marking of occupational specialisms.
These will include recorded walkthroughs of sample assessment materials, so you can feel confident throughout delivery and submission.
We’ll also publish an updated admin support guide for Craft and Media occupational specialisms. This will cover key dates, how to submit marks, how samples are selected, how to upload student work, and the moderation process.
