Updated Specifications - BTEC Tech Awards for 2022 included on DfE 2024 KS4 Performance Tables

The full list of qualifications that have been approved with links to updated specifications is below:

603/7049/X, Pearson BTEC Level 1/Level 2 Tech Award in Engineering has not been approved for the 2024 Key Stage 4 Performance tables. We are asking the Department for Education to review the decision and will let you know as soon the outcome is available. 

More information regarding our redeveloped BTEC Tech Awards for 2022 can be found on our website, alongside sample assessment materials (SAMs), Pearson-set assignments (PSAs) and Quick Guides for each qualification.

New January assessment window

As a reminder, we have confirmed that the BTEC Tech Awards will have an additional moderation window in January, the specifications have been updated to reflect this.  

(This doesn’t include the BTEC Tech Award in Art and Design, which only has 1 internal component).  

Support as you prepare to teach the new specifications

As you get ready to teach these new specifications, we want to ensure you have all the support you need to hand. We’ve created a breadth of complimentary support materials to help get you up to speed on what’s new for your sector. Make sure you take a look at your:

Training to support your delivery - Getting Started events 

To help familiarise you with these changes and the course as a whole, we’re running Getting Started events in January, March, May and June 2022.

Later in 2022, we will also be offering training to prepare you for marking the internally assessed components.
